River Tame

The River Tame is an important feature of the area as it forms its boundary.

Starting at the Hamstead village end the current Hamstead bridge was constructed in 1809, which replaced an earlier bridge that dated from 1688 situated a little further upstream.

The river winds its way past the RSPB nature centre and along to the Newton Road bridge where it winds round to the Railway line and then towards Walsall.
