January 2010

saw severe disruption due to the worst snow for many years.

Work commenced at the end of January on the £1.1 million Red Route along the A4011 Newton Road / A4031 All Saints Way. The first phase including new traffic lights at Forge Lane and shared cycle way and walkway by Wigmore Lane taking three months.

July 2010

Work on the Red Route continues into Great Barr with roadworks for the traffic lights at Hamstead Road and changes at Monksfield Avenue junction.
